Obedience in the Quiet: The Second Step After Saying Yes

So you took the first step. Maybe you said yes. Maybe you showed up.
But now what?

What happens when you’re walking in obedience… and life still feels messy?
When you’re doing what God asked—but you don’t feel better, stronger, or more “anointed”? What if no one notices? What if nothing changes?

Here’s the truth no one preaches enough:
Faith doesn’t always feel like progress.
Sometimes, obedience looks like quiet repetition.
Sweaty, ordinary, unseen, under-the-bridge faithfulness.

When I kept showing up, I wasn’t seeing miracles. I was seeing mosquitoes. I was lugging bananas and ice packs and wondering if I was doing it wrong. But that’s where God was building something in me.
Not a platform.
A backbone.

Sometimes the second step is walking without applause.
It’s praying even when the heavens feel silent.
It’s staying obedient, even when it’s awkward, uncomfortable, or unimpressive.

You’re not behind.
You’re not doing it wrong.
You’re just being trained in the hidden places.
And that’s sacred.

So if you took the first step last week… this is me reminding you:
Don’t look for fireworks.
Look for roots.

You are being strengthened in the secret place.

God sees you. He still wants you. And He’s not in a rush.
So don’t stop now.
Keep showing up.

Even when it’s quiet, it counts.
